Harsha offers his COPE membership to Charitha Herath

SJB MP Harsha de Silva said he would resign from the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) to pave the way for former COPE Chair Prof. Charitha Herath, who was removed from the Committee.

“I am resigning from COPE to pave way for Charitha Herath sacked by President Ranil Wickremesinghe controlled by Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna.  As the Chair of the Committee on Public Finance (COPF), I have my hands full as I am transforming COPF and establishing the Parliament Budget Office,” he tweeted.

Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardene yesterday informed Parliament on the appointment of new members to the COPE and COPA. However, former COPE Chair Prof. Charitha Herath was not included in either of the Committees.
